On-site management of records
Since 1998 Converga has provided permanent, full time records managers on-site in every Australian capital city to manage our clients’ records. Our current clients include four major Federal Government portfolio agencies (with offices in every State and Territory), and several private sector companies including a major insurer and the Australian subsidiary of a global manufacturing company.
Recently former clients include a major international accounting firm, Federal and State Government agencies, and Local Government councils.
We are one of Australia’s largest employers of permanent, full-time (not contracted) records managers. We aim to recruit staff who have competencies aligned with national accreditation standards, and offer all our records management staff the opportunity to complete training in Certificate III or IV in Recordkeeping.
The services we offer
The services we provide from our on-site Records Management Units include:
- the registration, creation and distribution of new paper (and electronic) files/folders/boxes
- the management of files/folders in on-site compactus units and dedicated repositories/archives
- off-site storage and retrieval of records in archival boxes, and the management of off-site storage contracts
- the sentencing of records at the end of their lifecycle in line with approved retention and disposal schedules
- the secure destruction of records.
In addition to these regular services, Converga also provides and offers:
- training in records management and use of systems (such as TRIM) for end users
- research/investigative support for legal and FOI requests, and in response to regular compliance requirements (such as Senate Continuing Order No 8)
- reporting on records holdings and activity/holding statistics
- the conduct of regular physical file audits/census
- continuous improvement initiatives.
